Motherhood is possibly the biggest challenge women will face. The gap between unrealistic expectations and the harsh reality of motherhood can mean mothers feel anxious, depressed, guilty and feel like they are failing.
Understanding how societal and cultural narratives shape mothers' thinking and sense of self is essential to help them gain awareness and understand why they feel that they are failing and how they can begin to break free from the associated anxiety, guilt, depression and emotional struggle. In this training, we explore how social and cultural norms impact clients' perceptions, lived experiences, mindset, thinking patterns and mental and emotional struggle and provide tools to assist clients.
